APOLOGIES to Everyone
The PBA officials would like to apologise to everyone for the unexpected postponement of the games scheduled for last Saturday, 15th of October. The YMCA Northcote management inadvertently double booked. PBA organizers and YMCA staff only realized this when they arrived Saturday morning to set up. Efforts to find another venue that morning was unsuccessful. PBA has now has a plan in place to avoid a repeat of this incident.
While PBA is extremely disappointed with this oversight, they have accepted YMCA's apology. In over 12 years of running tournaments, this is the first time this has happened. A very embarrassed Prexy Norm Latosa was seen busy on the phone ringing especially invited guests to inform them that the games have been postponed. Technical Commissioner Tracy Zafra meanwhile was informing the teams and PBA followers about the postponement. Some people were visibly upset but most took it in stride.
Later on a philosophical Norm explained that "Life is too short, if we let things like this seriously affect us then we need to have a look at ourselves again. Things happen for a reason. The YMCA manager is only human. We have a strong relationship with them and we intend to keep it. In the past, they have often accommodated us. Having said that we expect them to improve their systems, they are aware that we are not taking this lightly. We have sent them a written complaint. "
With the Labour Weekend festivities in Hamilton coming up this Saturday, PBA Grand Finals weekend will be held the following week.
Please join us on Saturday, 29th of October at YMCA Akoranga Gym , defending champion DIMOND will battle top placer Manila Motors/CMR for the most coveted LS Banal Cup and the Championship Shield. Both teams will be representing PBA to this year's Labour Weekend festival in Hamilton.
Make sure to bring your family and friends. Game starts at 12:30pm wherein 2 teams will battle for 3rd place and right after this (approx. 2:00pm) will be the Championship game.
An exciting sidelight right after the battle for 3rd place will be the Three Point Shoot-out, where sharpshooter Lester Latosa will be defending his title.
