West Team Wins Legend Tourney

WestThe yearend tournament of PBA was one dedicated to the more senior members of the league. A tournament dedicated to the guys who are aged 35 years old and above. PBA was keen to have this to ensure their more mature players are fit.

Initially aiming to have 6 teams to participate they ended up with 9 entries. Medyo marami na ang mature players natin VP Bong Fiel was quoted saying. Three of the teams came from  sister league UFC; one from a regular group that plays on Thursdays; two teams composed of friends based in North Shore; one call themselves Tribu and another was based in West Auckland; while another team was based in East Auckland who plays every Thursday at Panmure.read more....

Manila Motors / CMR is PBA - LS Banal Champs.. Dominate Awards

CoachJohnCoach John Senfelices was seen smiling ear to ear outside the gym. This was just a few minutes after he won his first PBA Championship after several attempts and was awarded this year's Coach of the Year honours. This has indeed been a successful year for him and his team. And what a team he has.  The 2011 PBA-LS Banal Cup Champion is CMR/Manila Motors. read more....

PBA Hits Trifecta!!!

AwardIs it possible for the PBA contingent to equal their results last year? In spite of facing so many challenges PBA managed to defend their title in the "Legends" division and win back the very competitive "Men's Open" title. That was last year. Hamilton 2011 would be a tough gig for the group. Other cities have improved significantly over the last few years. Wellington always had organized and solid teams; Christchurch and Queenstown had boosted their teams with strong new players and Palmerston North was unpredictable and of course host Hamilton was expected to have a competitive team. PBA prexy Norm Latosa told the teams representing the club to just give it their best. read more....

Hamilton Here We Come

VictoryThe annual Labour Weekend Pinoy get together is happening this weekend. This event is aptly called "Pistang Pilipino 2011 sa Hamilton". And as usual PBA will be sending a contingent to participate in the basketball competitions.

A total of 8 teams will be going, broken down to 4 in the men's open category; 2 in the legends division (40 and above); one each entry in the 19 and 13 and under divisions. read more....

APOLOGIES to Everyone

The PBA officials would like to apologise to everyone for the unexpected postponement of the games scheduled for last Saturday, 15th of October. The YMCA Northcote management inadvertently double booked. PBA organizers and YMCA staff only realized this when they arrived Saturday morning to set up. Efforts to find another venue that morning was unsuccessful. PBA has now has a plan in place to avoid a repeat of this incident. read more....

CMR/Manila Motors Crushes JR Panel's Chances

JumpballLabanan ng mga mekaniko or sa English "Battle of the Mechanics", parang title ng pelikula. With both teams having sponsors from the same industry there was always a lot at stake. JR Panel needed to win to keep their chances of making the finals in their inaugural entry alive. While a Manila Motors win would not only secure Mang Lando's team's place in the finals but also eliminate a team that could give them a hard time in the championship.read more....

LM Money Transfer Eliminates New World

JedIn a battle of survival, the game could have gone either way. With both teams knowing what was at stake, it seemed like they were competing for the finals. In reality, New World and LM Money Transfer were fighting for the last spot in the Final Four of the LS Banal Cup.
